Omar is the living proof that a great show dog can be a great working dog. Actually this must be the rule because as most of the breeders know, in morphology contests (dog Shows) the judges examine if a machine (dog) is build in accordance to the beed standard in order to meet the requirements for the work assigned to the specific breed (in the case of German pointers this work is hunting). So the show judges basicaly examine if the dogs presented before them are build for hunting.
